Sick, School, Sister, and Photography!
Quite a bit has taken place in the life recently. I have come down with something. I say something because I'm not quite sure what exactly it is. It happened overnight. I just woke up one morning with a throat aching so badly, I could barely talk or swallow. My head was pounding, my whole body hurt, I felt incredibly weak. I did not want to go to class. Thankfully, B talked me into it. With the promise of as long a nap as I desired after class, I was off for my very last lecture-filled classroom.
Normally, I just work through sickness. No biggie. This throat thing decided to spring up unannounced and on my two final weeks of school. Honestly, this month is a very busy one for me. Maybe I should have asked Mr. Throat Virus to wait until next month to come knocking.
My Schedule:
May 15th: 10 page tutorial final paper due for English (worth 20% of my grade)
May 16th: My sister arrives for two weeks of bliss! More on this below.
May 19th: Biology Final Exam
May 20th: Cole's doctor appointment
May 20th: Professional Photographer Appointment! More on this below.
May 24th: Jury Duty Summons. First timer here!
In addition to this, I had a Laboratory Practical Exam due two days into getting sick, as well as my Math final the following day.
On to more fun topics.
(Myself, Katie and Cole -- Sept 2009)
Katie!
My little sister. She's younger than me by almost exactly a year. My birthday being the 14th of July and her own being the 31st. We shared a room most of our lives and while we bickered, we became best friends and slept in a bed together more than not our whole adolescence. When I became pregnant, I moved to Utah, leaving her behind. Within a year of my leaving, Katie had spontaneously decided to join the Navy.
(Katie and Cole -- September 2008)
I can honestly say that I have never been more proud of her than I am now. While most kids her age would be doing things 10x worse than she is, she's dabbling per normal but being very mature and reasonable about it. There are, of course, areas where she is unwilling to dabble due to our Christian upbringing instilling a strong sense of morals within her. :)
Well, the very last time I got to see Katie was September of 2009. She has survived her first deployment to Spain! Where she let monkeys sit on her head. Literally.
(Katie -- May 2010)
She is coming home in less than two days. I'm beyond excited, honestly. We already have so much planned together. And I keep adding more, daily.
Next Subject: Photography
I had concluded that family photographs should be taken at least every six months while our son is so young to capture his changing and growth. We were planning to have portraits done in a few months but when I heard that Katie was coming home now, I decided to ask B about bumping them up to include her in some.
She misses Cole and me terribly when she's away so I know it'd mean more than anything in the world to have some amazing picture memories of her with Cole and me to carry with her to wherever the Navy dispatches her next.
Our photographer is amazing. She has worked so well with me to ensure us a great deal and met our needs. She also found a way to squeeze us in despite this being her busiest season with weddings. You can view her photo blog here: Clicky
