Holiday Cheer

I've done that disappearing act again -- for the longest stretch so far? We have a new record, Ladies and Gents!

However, I can report a few things:

1. The school semester is almost at an end. I shall be officially done within a couple of weeks. I have one more major test and then my Math final to complete.

2. Registration for my next round of school is on December 6th! Yay? :) I'm excited but nervous.

3. Cole's party is over. It went off without a hitch and there's much to be shown, photographically, for it!

4. My baby is now three years old. How crazy is that? I am the mother of a three year old. And no sibling to my three year old, alive or dead, to speak of.

Mini note: My midwife was so rude as to make our ending note of my final visit with her about how statistically she'd see me back in a year based on our ages and our current baby. I'm proud to say I have never seen the woman again (for another pregnancy!) and I have no second baby to show for it, THREE years later.

5. Holiday meals have been consumed. I am definitely working against that weight-loss thing I'd been shooting for.

6. Holiday decor is making it's way out for the season.

I love everything about the holidays! I'm so excited to Christmas shop, I'm so excited to wrap presents, to decorate the house and Christmas tree, to burn the scented candles, to bake the cookies, to take delicious things to the local firehouse.

It's one of my favorite times of the year. Although, the more I think about it, the more I come to the conclusion that I don't have a "favorite" time of any year. I love Spring colors and decorating, I love summer colors and crafts, I love Fall time colors SO much I considered a wedding planned around them, I love the changing leaves, the cool weather. I love Halloween colors and decorating. I love winter colors, temperatures, and decorating.

I just love living and decorating! And colors!

This is quickly becoming a blog of senseless babble. So I'll leave you with my tree. I still have details that need embellishments and I have SO much party stuff to post up. BUT, you may have my less than perfect tree pictures in the meantime.

I will note that every ornament has glitter in some quantity and that my camera refused to capture that sparkle in both flashed and non-flashed photos. The tree was originally intended to be real and green, but we ended up going with the white, artificial we had on hand.

The branches also have small bits of sparkly clear tinsel that shine gorgeous with the white lights. But also refuse to show in the pictures. My tree twinkles!

I think the white pros: no watering, cost effective, no real clean-up, makes the green/red colors POP.

The cons: no smell, big gaps between branch levels, annoying color code individual branch set-up, it doesn't really allow for the white ornaments and the white lights to pop.

Tomorrow I'll attempt some better pictures to accent the amazing sparkle of the in-life tree. Until then: Pictures
